Job Description/Overview of Position:

Looking for a Sheet Metal Apprentice for our construction team as our company is growing rapidly. The candidate must have either a high school diploma or GED. Must have the ability to prioritize and multi-task, organized and pay attention to details, provide excellent customer service and be a strong team member.
• Working hours Monday through Friday from 6.00 AM to 2.30 PM
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Technical evening classes are required if not graduated from technical school
• Uniform & safety equipment is provided by the company
• Basic knowledge of hand & electrical tools
• Good mechanical skills
• Must be able to read tape measurements
• Must follow all safety procedures and follow company safety rules & guidelines along with OSHA requirements
• The ability to learn and operate manual and automated machinery
• Basic blueprint reading skills are preferred but not required
• Learn basic maintenance/make repairs
• Learn to fabricate ductwork and make basic materials
• Learn to drive a forklift (Training provided)
• Help keep the shop/warehouse neat & clean
• Must be reliable, hardworking & punctual

As a Building Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for servicing existing automation customers as well as the execution of small controls jobs. This includes onsite hands-on work as well as programming controls sequences based on provided sequence of operations and diagnosis and repair of automation components, controllers, and associated end devices. This role will offer the opportunity to work on very small scale single unitary control systems up to full facility and central plant control systems. Success will be dictated by one’s willingness to learn and adapt to troubleshooting and installation of systems with minimal oversight and accepting challenging tasks such as controls communication troubleshooting. USA Mechanical & Energy Services is looking for someone with the flexibility and aptitude to switch between the execution of small projects and troubleshooting as needed. The primary systems one would be a subject matter expert in will include but are not limited to Niagara 4, LynxSpring Onyxx controls, Honeywell CiPer/Spyder controls, Trane Tracer, Trane ES, with a specific emphasis on Tridium Niagara experience. Ideally you will have a Niagara 4 certification coming in, but in its absence, USA Mechanical & Energy Services will send you to required training courses after a 90 day probationary period.

USA Mechanical & Energy Services is very serious about personal/personnel development and is looking specifically for someone driven to expand their knowledge in and around control systems. Ideally, we are looking for someone currently doing the job with expertise in the above-mentioned systems. If you do not have direct experience with those systems, USA Mechanical & Energy Services is willing to train someone with the aptitude and learners’ attitude that is shared here.

USA Mechanical is an experienced full-service mechanical contractor located in East Granby, CT close to Bradley International Airport specializing in commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal  & building automation systems.  USA Mechanical provides comprehensive full-service mechanical contractor providing 24/7 HVAC Service & Maintenance for all types of commercial facilities ensuring that HVAC equipment is operating at peak efficiency.

We are currently seeking an experienced and licensed commercial HVAC Technician with a valid D-2 or S-2 CT license, EPA certification and an OSHA 10 certificate to help service our growing commercial (no residential) account base. Looking for the right candidate who enjoys working independently and takes initiative in helping solve commercial HVAC related issues. Must have strong customer service skills, organized, pay attention to details and be a team player.

Salary:

$30.00 – $40.00 per hour

License:

  • EPA Technician (Preferred)
  • D-2 or S-2 (Required)
  • OSHA 10 (Preferred)

Work Location:

  • Multiple locations

Typical start & End time:

  • 7AM to 3PM
