JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Service Account Manager, you will be responsible for all functions related to developing long-term customer relationships with building facilities personal/owners and maintaining service customer relationships to ensure maximum revenues through account penetration. This includes finding, generating, and developing new service maintenance agreements and retaining current customers to sell the company’s services (i.e., quoted repairs, turnkey replacements, renewal agreements) to end-users. This position requires effective communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks from work order dispatch to quotes to high level reporting while working within tight timelines at a fast pace. As the Account Manager you are the first and often last point of contact for their clients. It is critical that as the account manager you become versed in the client processes and preferences as well as the obligations within the contract to ensure service delivery.
- Functions as a sales representative and liaison between customers and the office.
- Develop new customer accounts by contacting potential clients through referrals, construction project work requiring ongoing service & maintenance, and warm calling at various locations in their territory.
- Pre-call or visit planning, visits and supports customer accounts.
- Ascertains current market opportunities.
- Research and provide competitive sales data.
- Increasing sales to existing accounts by converting leads to opportunities
- Follow up quotes to help manage the pipeline.
- Establishes systematic customer contact to provide on-going information.
- Identifies customer problems and/or needs and creates a dynamic action plan designed to meet them.
- Develop multiple relationships with key players in customer operations.
- Develops and executes an account specific business plan to identify the long term, maintains records of sales, customer information, and requests by updating data.
- Performs analysis on customer purchases, needs, and uses.
- Performs analysis of service mix
- Reviews and provides feedback on customer support programs.
- Creates and maintains territorial listing noting classification of customer and frequency of calls.
- Focused accounts: weekly call reports, account plan reporting to be completed in a CRM tool.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.
- Other job duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred
- AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 3 or more years of HVAC sales/Plumbing or related HVAC experience; or equivalent combination of education and HVAC sales experience required.
- Prior technical sales experience required.
- Must have a strong technical understanding of HVAC systems.
- Must have strong presentation skills and demonstrated experience pricing systems for customers.
- A proven history of technical sales success
- Must have a mechanical aptitude and background.
- Proven experience in building customer relationships.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, presentation, and project management skills
- Exceptional people skills, developed through experience in client-facing roles or customer service and support.
- Excellent and creative critical thinking skills
- An ability to adjust to changing workflows and demands.
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills, a consultative approach, the ability to influence multiple constituents without direct authority and effective network within an evolving organization.
- Flexibility to travel locally.
- Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
