Job Description/Overview of Position:

 

As a Construction Account Manager, you will be responsible for working with building owners, consulting engineering / architecture & engineering firms to increase HVAC & plumbing contracting project work along with controls systems and hardware sales while developing long-term customer relationships and maximizing account penetration / customer retention. You will also be the subject matter expert to support work as the Account Manager with contractors and consulting engineer/architect accounts. The goal is to organize all resources of USA Mechanical to meet the client’s business objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Developing relationships with multiple buying influences in customer’s organization, including executive level customers, facility managers, project managers, project engineers, construction and purchasing
  • Gathering and validating preliminary information and performing facility walk-throughs / construction plan reviews
  • Determining project needs, constraints, & responsibility to meet customer’s HVAC, Plumbing & controls system design and installation requirements
  • Developing, evaluating, and discussing possible solutions with customers
  • Developing project fulfillment schedule with project team
  • Selecting, pricing, and integrating equipment, controls, and services for each project
  • Preparing, finalizing & reviewing preliminary proposal, and validating the preliminary offering with customer. Determining proposal price & selling strategy
  • Preparing and reviewing contract terms & conditions using standard USA Mechanical contract templates as applicable. Presenting the proposal and negotiating price, terms, and conditions with customer
  • Manage vendor selection, procurement processes and align USA Mechanical resources with customer requirements
  • Develop and execute on the specific account business plan to identify the long term goals in order to facilitate a strong, profitable and successful partnership.
  • Build USA Mechanical teams with the intention of bringing specific, measurable value to the customer for service, and buy-sell equipment.
  • Convert leads into opportunities by financially qualifying the customer and developing a strategic plan, assigning the required sales team members, making assignments, and communicating the next steps in the sales process.
  • Determine project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all of the customer’s facility requirements.
  • Provide marketplace feedback, including competitive information, customer expectations, industry trends, etc.
  • Consistently determine customer needs and current market opportunities. Assemble and coordinates project team as needed for customers and projects.
  • Local travel requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field with 3+ of Sales Engineering / Account Management experience, with specific expertise in HVAC Systems
  • Must have a strong technical understanding of HVAC systems with the ability to write control specifications for engineering customers
  • Must have strong presentation skills and demonstrated experience pricing systems for customers
  • A proven track record of technical sales success
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and background.
  • Proven experience in building customer relationships.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, presentation, and project management skills
  • Exceptional people skills, developed through experience in client-facing roles or customer service and support
  • Excellent and creative problem-solving skills
  • An ability to adjust to changing workflows and demands
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills, a consultative approach, the ability to influence multiple constituents without direct authority and effectively network within an evolving organization

Job Description/Overview of Position:

As a Service Account Manager, you will be responsible for all functions related to developing long-term customer relationships with building facilities personal/owners and maintaining service customer relationships to ensure maximum revenues through account penetration.   This includes finding, generating, and developing new service maintenance agreements and retaining current customers in order to sell the company’s services (i.e. quoted repairs, turnkey replacements, renewal agreements) to end-users.  This position requires effective communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks from work order dispatch to quotes to high-level reporting while working within tight timelines at a fast pace. As the Account Manager, you are the first and often the last point of contact for their clients. It is critical that as the account manager you become versed in the client processes and preferences as well as the obligations within the contract to ensure service delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a sales representative and liaison between customers and the office.
  • Develops new customer accounts by contacting potential clients through referrals, construction project work requiring ongoing service & maintenance, and warm calling at various locations in their territory.
  • Pre-call or visit planning, visits and supports customer accounts.
  • Ascertains current market opportunities.
  • Researches and provides competitive sales data.
  • Increases sales to existing accounts by converting leads into opportunities
  • Follows up on quotes to help manage pipeline.
  • Establishes systematic customer contact to provide ongoing information.
  • Identifies customer problems and/or needs and creates a dynamic action plan designed to meet them.
  • Develops multiple relationships with key players in customer operations.
  • Develops and executes an account-specific business plan to identify the long term, and maintains records of sales, customer information, and requests by updating data.
  • Performs analysis on customer purchases, needs, and uses.
  • Performs analysis of service mix
  • Reviews and provides feedback on customer support programs.
  • Creates and maintains territorial listing noting classification of customers and frequency of calls.
  • focused accounts: weekly call reports, account plan reporting to be completed in a CRM tool.
  • Occasional travel requirements in the local area
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred
  • AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 3 or more years of HVAC sales/Plumbing or related HVAC experience; or equivalent combination of education and HVAC sales experience required.
  • Prior technical sales experience required.
